History and Mission

Welcome to our office!

Choosing a provider is one of the most important decisions you will make. You want someone who is caring, knowledgeable, and accessible. You want someone willing to take the time to go over all of your options and treat you as a person, not just as a patient. Our goal is to give your family the best pediatric care. We are here to serve you and your children by providing personalized care at each visit. In order to familiarize yourself with our practice, please take a few minutes to read through the following information.

The Growth of Franczyk Pediatrics

Dr. Darren Franczyk is a board certified pediatrician with 20 years of experience.   His road started at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine.  After medical school, he went to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he learned to treat all types of pediatric medical problems.  As he grew closer to finishing his residency, he decided he wanted to spend time with families and watch their children grow up.

Dr. Franczyk started as a member of a larger group.  This was a wonderful opportunity and he learned a lot about pediatrics.  In 2006, after 9 years with larger groups, he decided to open his own smaller practice so he could give more individualized and personal care to his patients and their families.  After about a year, a well-respected pediatrician, Dr. J Jordan Storlazzi approached Dr. Franczyk about joining him.  Dr. Storlazzi wanted to slow down but he wanted to make sure that someone would take good care of his patients.  Dr. Franczyk was also fortunate to join a call group with Delaware Pediatrics run by Dr. Matt Gotthold and Dr. Jason Han Duchenne.  This allowed Dr. Franczyk to continue his small practice, but at the same time make sure his patients were safe guarded 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

Now that Franczyk Pediatrics was born Dr. Franczyk knew that a small practice with individualized care was a great start.  But he had to make sure his practice looked to the future to continue to give the best care possible.  In 2012, the practice implemented Office Practicum which is a pediatric based electronic medical system.  This allowed the practice to give better care to his patients.  It made it easier to tracks lab results, yearly well visits, and vaccine records.  It also increased convenience by allowing prescriptions to be sent right to the pharmacy.

In 2013, the practice integrated the practice’s patient portal, which allows parents to have access to have immediate access to their children’s record.  In 2015, for all the hard work and innovation, Franczyk Pediatrics earned Patient Centered Medical Home accreditation

Franczyk Pediatrics continues to adapt and change to meet the new challenges of Pediatric Medicine.  One thing that will not change is the personalized care that you receive.
